Within just one day, BTS and their ARMY have managed to hit milestones and set new highs.

Upon the release of their latest album, Map of the Soul: Persona, BTS has accomplished to break impressive records only to set their own within 24-hours.

Within hours of its release, Map of the Soul: Persona had accomplished to surpass the group’s own personal feat and write Hanteo chart history. The Hanteo chart is one of South Korea’s biggest album-sale monitoring charts. The chart keeps track of real-time sales and record of individual album sales from approved online and offline retailers. In the evening of its release, the newest BTS album had managed to beat the group’s own first-week sales achievement for Love Yourself 轉 ‘Tear’. The impressive record of the 2018 album’s 1,003,527 units marks the highest number of albums sold for first-week sales in Hanteo chart history. Map of the Soul: Persona had surpassed that, recording over 1.38 million units within only three hours. Ultimately, the album has become the fastest selling and best selling album in Hanteo chart history.

The latest album had also managed to top the iTunes Albums in 87 countries worldwide. While this achievement sets a new high for the group with Love Yourself 轉 ‘Tear’ hitting #1 in 85 countries, RM’s mono stubbornly holds the record as the South Korean album with most #1s with 91 regional charts. Though, it’s only a testament to how BTS are their own competition. Map of the Soul: Persona’s lead single, “Boy With Luv (작은 것들을 위한 시) ft. Halsey”, had also hit #1 in 65 countries. Moreover, all the new tracks from the album had managed to occupy spots on the top ten of both the U.S. iTunes Songs Chart and the Worldwide iTunes Songs Chart. Meanwhile, on the global streaming giant, Spotify, Map of the Soul: Persona had surpassed 21.5 million streams.

Domestically, BTS had managed to top the major real-time charts of popular music streaming services with the album’s title track.

The biggest South Korean music streaming site, MelOn, however, had reportedly gone down multiple times due to overwhelming traffic influx. Though, despite the mishaps, BTS were still able to perform. “Boy With Luv (작은 것들을 위한 시) ft. Halsey” achieved seven “roof hits”. This refers to when the number of accounts streaming and downloading a song is at the maximum for MelOn and the data is too high to be calculated on the platform’s graph. The track is the group’s first “roof hit” since their 2016 song, “Spring Day (봄날)”. Furthermore, the album’s lead single had gathered 934,298 “unique listeners”—the number of individual accounts streaming the song—making BTS the second South Korean boy group to ever surpass 900,000 “unique listeners” within the first 24-hours of release. “Boy With Luv (작은 것들을 위한 시) ft. Halsey” also managed multiple “Real-time All-Kill”, the song hitting #1 on all the hourly real-time charts 18 times.

The music video for “Boy With Luv (작은 것들을 위한 시) ft. Halsey” had also accomplished to garner 78 million Youtube views within the first 24-hours of its release, marking the best opening day for a music video in the platform’s history.

It had also set the bar higher for the most liked music video upon the 24-hour timeframe with 6.6 million likes. The music video had remarkably managed to surpass the previous record of 56.7 million views just in a little more than half a day.

All this accomplished within the first 24-hours. Who knows what BTS and the ARMY can achieve next?
